Blog #7 Whats in your food?

I’m an over thinker, to summarize yes I’m a capricorn. So when it comes to any controversial topic, 9 times out of 10 I know about it. Food is the most controversial topic in the US. I turned my eating habits around completely in 2021 because I had a health scare and I knew I wanted to change my life that day forward.

I recently watched a movie called “ Fresh “. In the movie they basically broke down what the world is afraid to hear about where exactly our food is coming from. We tend to always pick the less expensive foods in the grocery store, unfortunately those less expensive foods, like vegetables for example tend to have the most harmfulness to us. There's millions of people in the US so companies try to find a faster way to produce more at a certain amount of time, which is leaving us with the chemicals they use to keep fruits and vegetables edible as pesticides, these chemicals are harmful to us the more we ingest them. If we were to buy organic fruits and vegetables, even though they are expensive we would eliminate those harmful chemicals coming into our body.

The film was very informative and helpful. It dove into things we are not often aware of, that we should be considering swe are the ones consuming these foods. Even myself, I thought I knew a lot about eating healthy from my doctors but this film helped me realize the production of it all, which starts at farming. When we think of farming we aren't thinking about the depths of it, it's more than what we see in movies and TV. The more the truth is spread and acknowledged, the more we would have a healthier environment and population.
